Uní

Uní was born from a desire to create a dining experience that feels both elevated and inviting—where excellence meets warmth. The name hints at Japanese inspiration, chosen for its simplicity and clarity, reflecting the calm and ease guests sense the moment they walk through the door. Chef Takashi Saito brings his Japanese heritage to the kitchen, while Danish seasonal ingredients and close collaborations with small local producers shape each dish. The result is a menu that feels familiar yet exciting, guiding guests toward bold, unexpected flavors.

At Uní, it’s the whole experience that matters. Light, sound, rhythm, scent and movement in the space are just as important as the plate before you. The goal is to create a sense of ease and comfort, like stepping into a home where you can relax and be gently guided through the evening. That philosophy shaped the interior as much as the cuisine. In the Store Kongensgade space, original timber framing, wood panels and a vintage floor were carefully restored to let the building’s warm, quirky personality shine through.

The design draws on a Japandi aesthetic, blending organic materials, muted earthy tones, and understated simplicity. An oak-paneled bar, curated artwork, and personal touches give the room a harmonious mix of refinement and warmth. Kristina Dam Studio’s Outline Chairs add comfort and elegance with their crisp lines and solid oak frames. Every detail works together to create an experience that Uní sums up in three words: balance, craftsmanship and warmth.
