For Pernille, interior design is an extension of architecture: furniture should complement the house, never compete with it.

She doesn't believe in a single style that works everywhere; a home should respect the frame it's built within, and good design is a matter of balance, material, and proportion. She would rather wait than settle for the wrong piece, favoring quality that can stay in the home for years, which is why she holds particular affection for the original woven parquet floor, the solid-wood window frames, and the built-in rosewood shelving that give the house its character.

The large living room, where the light shifts beautifully throughout the day and the garden is just beyond the door, is where the family spends most of its time. Here, the Curated Coffee Table in glass and steel sets up a striking contrast against the warm woodwork "it's in the contrasts that the magic happens," Pernille says, while sculptures from Kristina Dam Studio add a modern, almost architectural presence to the room.

For Pernille, home is above all a feeling of belonging the moment you step through the door, and proof that nothing here is accidental: the house still tells its own story, with architecture as its true protagonist.
