Café Hakkō

In the heart of Aarhus’ atmospheric city centre lies Café Hakkō – a tranquil retreat where simplicity meets serenity, deeply inspired by Kyoto and the city’s harmony of contrasts. Here, it’s the taste of freshly whisked matcha and the scent of warm sourdough that greet guests – but also the space itself, where every detail is designed to offer a sensory experience.

The café is furnished with a focus on natural materials and timeless forms. Our round Collector Table in oak invites quiet moments, offering space to look each other in the eye, while our Outline Chairs – also crafted from solid oak – bring a sculptural lightness and comfort that encourages reflection.
The contrast between the raw and the warm, the organic and the simple, is echoed in both the menu and the interior. Everything has been carefully chosen and designed as an invitation to touch, feel and sense.

Café Hakkō is more than just a café – it’s a pause. An invitation to be present, to let your gaze drift across soft surfaces and allow the senses to awaken. A place where form and function merge, and where a single piece of oak furniture becomes part of a larger story of calm, rhythm and presence.
